L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation, review

Hello my lovely readers today I’m back with a review on a foundation I have used quite a lot in the last two months – the L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation. I bought this foundation from a duty-free shop at the border between Romania and Bulgaria (it is not available in stores in Romania yet) and have used it ever since, so now it’s time I tell you my thoughts about it.

The L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation is the first L’Oreal Paris cushion drenched in liquid foundation for a fresh nude finish, in a tap. Its most important quality is that you can customize your coverage with the unique tap-tap applicator which allows an effortlessly buildable application on the go: tap a little for a sheer luminous finish, or tap a lot for medium buildable coverage. It is available in 7 luminous shades enriched with SPF 25 (1- Porcelain, 3- Vanilla, 4- Rose Vanilla, 6- Rose Beige, 7- Golden Beige, 9- Beige and  11- Golden Amber).

How to apply:
Step 1: Gently press the applicator on the cushion sponge to release the liquid foundation.
Step 2: Tap the applicator onto skin to build your desired coverage: tap a little for a sheer luminous finish, or tap a lot for medium buildable coverage.
How to clean your applicator:
Wash the applicator with warm water and soap, allow to air-dry before use.
How to make your cushion last longer:
Remove the cushion from the compact and flip over to the reverse side for more product.

L'OrealParis_NudeMagiqueCushionFoundation_beautyinfiveminutescom4The L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation (mine is no.3 Vanilla) comes in a plastic packaging (the lid over the cushion closes tightly and does not let the liquid foundation escape) and has a valability of 12 months. I like the fact that it is very travel- friendly and compact : you can take it with you for touch-ups on the go and it is small enough to fit in every suitcase without spilling and ruining the clothes.

Its applicator makes the application easy, it can be washed with water and soap (solid or liquid) and it dries fairly fast in a few hours. It is a dewy finish foundation with a light coverage that can be built towards medium, they say. I do not think it reaches a medium coverage. It covers light skin imperfections, unifies the colour of the skin but for a stronger coverage I think a good concealer must be used.

I have a combination to oily skin (more oily in the summer) and I tend to search for mattifying foundations and stay away from dewy, luminous foundations. But I like the L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation in the summer time, due to its very light, watery texture. In the scorching summer temperatures I can’t stand much make-up on my face, I like to use this foundation as my base to protect my skin from the sun and the elements (I would have liked a 50 SPF..). You can see its coverage and its appearance in the photos below :

As you can see it has made my skin colour even, got rid of the redness and covered slightly my dark circles under the eyes. If I want more coverage I can use a concealer over the specific areas. It has a dewy, luminous finish so I do not use powder over this foundation ; it will ruin its specific finish. I tend to use a creamy blush and a good highlighter to achieve a dewy, luminous, light summer look.

On my combination to oily skin and due to the high temperatures, this foundation lasts for around 5 to 6 hours. After that it melts into the skin but it doesn’t disappear. In the evening when I take my make-up off I can still find it on the cosmetic pad. If you want a more lasting effect on the skin try using a good face primer underneath the foundation. I am sure that its lasting power is greater on a dry skin. You can see the full make-up look I made around the L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation below :

You can find it online at boots.com at the price of aprox. 15 pounds. I bought it from the duty-free store at the price of aprox. 65 ron. I am sure that it will be available in Romania very soon.

All in all, the L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation is a good summer foundation for me. I like its light, watery texture on the skin and its user and travel-friendly qualities. I would have liked a higher SPF and I would really like a matte version of this foundation for the combination/oily skin types (this devy foundation is more suitable for the normal to dry skin types). From me it gets a -A grade. Would I repurchase it ? Yes, for the summer time. Until next time,   Love, M
