Last week as I visited Marrionaud to see what was new or reduced I discovered that some of The Balm products were on sale, including one palette I had wanted for a long time : The Balm Nude’tude. Of course I bought it on the spot! Since it’s still in the shops I hurried to write a post about it to help you make up your mind about buying it or not.
The Balm Nude’tude palette consists of 12 beautiful shadows that make wearing nudes sexy! These satiny smooth colors can be applied naturally, “let me slip into something more comfortable” or beautifully layered. The wide range gives you light highlighters as well as brazen bold shades that work to add definition and emphasis to your lids. Nude`tude allows you to dramatically dress up your eyes—if nothing else!
I don’t know if you know but the palette comes in two versions Nice and Naughty (they contain the same shades of eyeshadow), they differ in the packaging. I got the Naughty one, which I love!! I had played with it several times so I can tell you my impressions on it.
The palette contains 12 eyeshadows in a slim cardboard palette with a dual-ended eyeshadow/liner brush. What I like the most about this palette is its versatility: there is a combination of shadows suitable for both a nude day look and a bold smoky night look with other variations in between. There are 4 matte eyeshadows and 8 shimmery ones.
Instructions for use : Apply these shadows wet or dry to create Naughty and Nice looks.
The eyeshadows are very buttery soft, easy to use and blend. They are well pigmented as you can see from the swatches below :
Sassy – frosted white, pigmented, buttery soft, easy to blend.
Snobby – medium-dark yellow, shimmery, pigmented, buttery soft, easy to blend.
Stubborn – light-medium peach, shimmery, pigmented, buttery soft, easy to blend.
Stand-offish – light-medium bronze-brown, shimmery, pigmented, buttery soft, easy to blend.
Selfish – frosted taupe brown/gray, pigmented, buttery soft, easy to blend.
Sultry – warm, medium brown with an almost matte finish, pigmented, buttery soft, easy to blend.
Sophisticated – warm dark brown with a bronze shimmer, pigmented, buttery soft, easy to blend.
Schitzo – warm, golden bronze/brown, shimmery, pigmented, buttery soft, easy to blend.
Sexy – rich burgundy, a mix of red and brown with a matte finish, pigmented, soft, easy to blend.
Silly – red-hued brown with bits of copper sparkle, drier formula. The most dissapointing shade of them all – poor pigmentation (you can see in the swatch too), the colour cannot stay on without a colourful base and it has fall-out.
Serious – dark black with a matte finish, pigmented, soft, easy to blend.
Sleek – dark black-brown with a matte finish, pigmented, soft, easy to blend.
I have heard about the great quality of the eyeshadows from The Balm and I can say I agree! Almost all (with the exception of Silly) are very well pigmented, buttery soft, easy to use and blend. I am very pleased with the colour selection of this palette and its great quality.
It can be found in all Marionnaud shops at the full price of aprox 120 ron/$36.00 for 0.382 oz (I found it at half price 65 ron). I really like it very much and it is definitely worth the money full price or not!
All in all, The Balm Nude’tude palette is a versatile eye palette with pigmented eyeshadows for both day and night. It is slim and easy to travel with (the magnet in the palette seems strong so it won’t open so fast; it also has an outer sleeve which keeps the palette free from falls). Therefore I give it the A grade and recommend it to you if you are looking for a good quality palette with great versatility! Until next time , Love, M
