Make Up For Ever Matt Velvet + Foundation no.35 Vanilla, review

Hello my lovely readers, today’s post is a review of a foundation I wanted to try for a long time – the Make Up For Ever Matt Velvet + Foundation. I managed to get my hands on it from another fellow blogger – thank you again Stella, this is why I got the shade 35 Vanilla (for medium skin with yellow/ beige undertones) which is too dark for me. Anyway I still wanted to try it , having heard so many good things about it (great for combination/oily skin such as mine) from the online community.

MakeUpForEver-MattVelvet+Foundation-beautyinfiveminutescomAs you can see, it comes in a 30 ml plastic, squeezy tube and has a valability of 12 months. It has a slightly runny texture and a discrete sweet scent I like. I also like the squeezy tube, it is hygienic, I can control the amount of foundation to dispense and it’s very travel-friendly. It is considered to be a shine controlling, oil-free, water-resistant, complete coverage liquid foundation.

It has a runny, light consistency that is oil-free and non comedogenic  so it’s suitable even for sensitive skins. When it’s applied lightly (as I did, because the shade was too dark for me) the Make Up For Ever Matt Velvet + Foundation creates a natural, matte look to the skin. It feels very light and pleasant on the skin and it is indeed water-resistant and long-lasting (it lasted on my skin over 9 hours without fading or caking).

If you need more coverage (it creates medium to high coverage), you can add several layers to help conceal blemishes and skin imperfections, it evens out the complexion and matifies with a non-oily powdery, elastic, velvety finish. It contains several ingredients such as : Corn Starch (a mattifying vegetable powder),  Cyclopentasiloxane (a volatile silicone oil for substitute leave on shining oil), Glycerin (a humectant agent) and Sodium Myristoyl Glutamate (a vegetable amino-acid coating pigment that provides a water-resistant effect).

Ingredients : Cyclopentasiloxane, Water, Corn Starch Modified, Bis-PEG/PPG-14/14 Dimethicone, Neopentyl Glycol Diethylhexanoate, Glycerin, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Mica, Magnesium Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Aluminum Hydroxide, Propylene Carbonate, Propylparaben, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Chlorphenesin, Methylparaben, Tetrasodium EDTA, Fragrance, Cyclohexasiloxane, Sodium Myristoyl Glutamate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Citronellol, Geraniol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone. May Contain: CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77491(Iron Oxides), CI 77492 (Iron Oxides), CI 77499 (Iron Oxides).

As you’ll see below, even though I applied it very sparingly it has a good coverage and it gives the skin a natural, velvety-matte effect.

I like the Make Up For Ever Matt Velvet + Foundation. It is easy to use, travel-friendly, you can control the coverage effect on the skin, by wearing it very light or adding several layers. It is very long-lasting and water-resistant and it has a velvety-matte effect on the skin (which is great for my combination/oily skin). You can find it in Sephora and online at the price of aprox. 190 ron, 39 dollars, 29 pounds. From me it gets an -A (due to the slightly prohibitive price). Until next time,   Love, M
