Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief, review

Hello my lovely readers today I’m back with a review on a face cream I have finished during my 3 week holiday in Ireland this summer : the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief. I have kept this travel-size version (15 ml/0.5 oz) earlier exactly with this trip in mind and it lasted me exactly 3 weeks. Let’s find out more about it.

Clinique_Moisture_Surge_Extended_Thirst_Relief_beautyinfiveminutescom1The Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief is a lush cream-gel that penetrates the skin, enhancing the natural hyaluronic acid—the nature’s perfect moisture magnet. For 24 hours, the skin is plumped, dewy, glowing—from the inside out. Oil-free. 100% Fragrance free. Allergy tested. For all skin types. It comes in two versions one of 50 ml/1.7 oz – 39 dollars and the other in 75 ml/2.5 oz – 52.50 dollars.

Directions for use : Use whenever, wherever needed, under or over make-up. or as a 5-minute mask.

My travel-size version came in a 15 ml plastic pot (not very hygienic, I would have preferred a squeezy tube) and has a valability of 24 months. It has a discrete, sweet scent that disappears almost immediately. I really love its light, gel texture, especially in the hot summer time. It is very quickly absorbed into the skin, leaving the skin soft and hydrated. It does not leave a film at the top of the skin as most of the hydrating creams do.

Clinique_Moisture_Surge_Extended_Thirst_Relief_beautyinfiveminutescom3You know that I have a combination to oily skin, meaning oily on the T-zone and dry/dehydrated on the cheek area and around the mouth. I really love this cream for the hydration it have me (it lasted for around 6-8 hours) and its quick absorption in the skin, with no grease film on the skin.

I didn’t experience a high difference in the plumpness or glowiness of the skin. I didn’t have any skin irritations from this cream, redness or itching. I did not observe any sebum increase on my face. After the cream was absorbed into the skin the make-up stayed very well on top of it, without sliding or clogging in patches on the skin.

Ingredients : Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Betula Alba (Birch) Bark Extract, Silybum Marianum (Lady’s Thistle) Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Saccharomyces Lysate Extract, Sucrose, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water, Trehalose, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Sorbitol, Oleth-10, Tromethamine, Caffeine, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Hydrolyzed Extensin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Caprylyl Glycol, Dimethicone, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, PEG-8, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Carbomer, Hexylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Red 4 , Yellow 5.

It can be found in shops such as Sephora, Kendra, Douglas and online at the price of aprox. 50 ron (30ml), 140 ron (50ml) and 269 ron (125 ml). I have received mine as a gift for a bigger Clinique purchase.

All in all, the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief is a very good summer face-cream for me due to its light, gel texture. It is quick absorbant on the skin with no oily film, a good make-up base. The hydration is good lasting for around 8 hours on me. The price is quite high for its full-size, not for anybody. You can buy it from selected stores and online. I recommend to try a smaller-size version or a tester before making a full-size purchase. From me it gets the -A grade. Tell me Have you tried this face cream ? What other Clinique skincare do you recommend for me to try ? Until next time,   Love, M
